Out of Alaska
is a distinctive partnership of experienced Alaskan musicians who have
combined their talents to present what can best be described as an exceptional
musical experience.
An ensemble in the truest sense, each brings talents to the group that
compliments the others, creating a musical ‘sum’ that is greater than
the individual parts. The group performs a diverse selection of what
can best be described as Americana music. The sound is based on a foundation
of musical genres developed over long periods of time in the Southern
and Western United States, made even more uncommon by the addition of
a distinctly Alaskan variation in the musical style and song selection.
It is music often overlooked by other artists, with an emphasis on traditional
as well as unique gospel and original Alaskan songs. In a reversal of
the migration that historically brought unique American music performers
and Celtic fiddle players north to this Great Land of Alaska, the musicians
in Out of Alaska developed their talents here, and
now seek to bring their music to the rest of the world. Long cold winters,
breathtaking summers and a remarkable cultural experience have influenced
